Beau∙tea

“Tea is quiet and our thirst for tea is never far from our craving for beauty” – James Norwood Pratt

I am in love with beauty. I love to look for it in the little things and big things, I love admiring it, and I love its many forms. Often, when I am out and about in public and I am idle, I like to observe people and admire their best features. To many, “beauty” might mean an unrealistic standard. But to me it means the sparkle in someone’s eyes, the crooked teeth in a genuine smile, or messy hair at the end of a long day.

The ability to find and appreciate beauty is easy. All you need to do is look around and you’ll find beauty everywhere. Look for it in the little things like the slant of sunrays through the windows, or bigger things like the sunrise or sunset itself. More often than not, you will find that simpler things hold more beauty rather than something extravagant.

Ethereal Tea

It is easy to lose myself in a magic that is otherworldly, for this world holds no charm compared to that of my mind.

Ever since I was a little child, I have always lived with half of me in this world and the other half lost in my thoughts. Imagination was my biggest friend and the worlds I conjured up were always better than anything this world could be. As I was setting up to click pictures for this post, those feeling of wonder that surrounded my childhood came rushing back to me. As we grow up, we forget to keep that awe and fascination alive inside of us, we lose the sense of wonderment that gives magic to life. Continue reading

A Quick Little Update

Every cup of tea is an amazing, imaginary, heavenly journey!

Hello dear reader. I had a nice little post planned for today since I’m trying to post regularly every week. But sadness related things happened (college coursework) and I am here instead with a little update that I had promised some weeks ago.

Tea and Wanderlust

“All I really want to do is spend my life travelling the world, reading books that take my breath away, drinking all kinds of tea and occasionally writing something.”

Here’s the thing about dreamers, their hearts and souls are forever restless. And so is the case with me. I don’t know who wrote the above quote, but I have never read something that describes my desires quite so well. It is the definition of bliss for me.

I was gripped by a particularly strong sense of wanderlust while sipping some tropical fruit tea the other day. This tea, by Lipton was another little present from my sister. The name is aptly given, since you can really taste the tropics in this sweet and mellow tea. It was a bittersweet experience for me, because although I immensely enjoyed the tea, the intense yearning for the gypsy life left me a little low. Here I am, wishing to travel and read and float through life, and what I really must do is prepare for exams. Continue reading

Memorable Evenings & Special Teas

My specialty is drinking tea

Last week I took a trip to a small beach town with my friends that was arranged by our college. The picturesque French influenced town was truly a much-needed getaway for all of us. While many people might opt for wine while in a town like that, I of course went for tea. A dear friend and I had planned before the trip that we would have a little tea evening whilst there and that is just what we did. Continue reading
